Who I AM

I’m Lena, a licensed local guide based in Normandy, guiding private tours for travelers who want to go beyond standard itineraries and truly understand the places they visit.
My approach combines a French professional guide education with interpretive methods from the National Association for Interpretation (NAI). This allows me to design tours focused on observation, dialogue and personal meaning, rather than simple memorization of dates and names.
I work with couples, families and small groups, adapting each tour to their interests, pace and questions. My role is not only to show sites, but to help create understanding through people, stories and historical context.

My guiding approach

My tours are always built around a theme.
I begin with a thinking routine inspired by my training with the National Gallery of Art, which encourages observation, questioning and personal reflection rather than passive listening.
I engage different senses throughout the visit: sight, smell, touch and sometimes taste. I like using authentic period objects and contextual elements. These tools are never fixed or repeated mechanically; they adapt to the group, its dynamics and its curiosity.
My goal is not for you to “pass a test” at the end of the tour by memorizing dates or names. What matters to me is that you create a personal connection with the place you are visiting that you find meaning, understanding and resonance beyond facts alone.
